Writing to conservatives and Republicans, mostly in Hawaii, I email rather than blog because this is a (quasi-) private discussion.  These reports chronicle HRP’s story.  My perspective is that of conservative, former State Party Chairman and Vice Chairman and RNC member, now with several conservative organizations including the Republican Assemblies.  Hawaii conservatives need to know that they are not alone.  Please forward this to conservatives or let me know to be removed.

HIRA’s exposure of Saiki and R/H/L corruption shows that HRP needs cleansing.  Fearful R legislators are as culpable as the State Cmte is incompetent.

–I don’t necessarily agree with ALL our readers.  “Why can’t HRP fight against Democrats instead of causing all this infighting?”  “Young Republicans game night? We still have a YR chapter in Hawaii? I have never been invited.“  “I long ago abandoned HRP.  I now support HIRA in full.  Let’s clean house.  If necessary start a criminal investigation.  We are dead in the water unless we band together for a fresh start.“  “Stuff from Civil Beat is poorly researched, poorly written and favors liberals and RINOs over conservatives.“  “This TheRail nonsense – to hell with their “too big to fail” boondoggles.“  District chair “HRP reminds me of the Democrats in state offices.  HRP leadership makes mistakes and then blames other people for something they should have done to begin with.  I’ve never seen anything like this.  If I were what they did – knowing now what HIRA revealed about the money situation – I’d not be able to sleep at night asking people to donate.“

-HIRA media for HRP.  Civil Beat – Hawaii’s Republican Insurrection.  Not all accurate, but close.  Blair steps up to address some issues which keeps the minority party … minor.  He passes on the current issue of embezzlement and fraud, afraid to call out the establishment.  Fearful of the media, “Rohlfing and [Tagavilla] did not respond to phone calls and emails seeking comment.“  That alone should have caused Blair to pause.  McDermott lies to get Blair to write about a photo HIRA used of a cozy Rohlfing and Tagavilla.  When told that the photo came from HRP’s FB post, Blair left it out of the article.  You’d think he’d figure out who is doing the lying.

-Some people hate the RNC, yet Priebus and team set fundraising records.  Some people hate the Washington Redskins, yet they are the third most valuable franchise in professional sports.  Some people hate the HRP ‘leaders’, yet … they fail repeatedly.  It isn’t the haters’ causing success or failure.

-HRP bosses – Rohlfing, Saiki, Hellreich, Liu, Ready, McDermott, Tagavilla, Smart – blame their problems on HIRA; lack of funds, lack of district chairs and volunteers, lack of principles, lack of a message, lack of messaging, lack of a spine.  Then, they call HIRA a couple of unimportant ‘radicals’, too few to make a difference.  They can’t argue the fact, so they use name calling.  When the establishment hates HIRA this much, HIRA must be doing something right.  This crew is not ready to challenge Dems though HIRA is making them step up their game.

-Rohlfing’s ‘Action Plan’ isn’t.  Tagavilla’s list of general goals & undefined programs for a state party fits on three double-spaced pages.  Tagavilla presented it to the State Cmte as a final plan, not realizing it requires State Cmte approval.  The 2015 draft plan wasn’t presented until the END of 2015.  Rohlfing wouldn’t discuss 2016.  Your uninterested State Cmte had not one queston.

No organization does more to destroy the Republican brand than the Hawaii Republican Party.  A pro-life national Platform; HRP elects pro-abortion Saiki.  A record-setting RNC fundraising cycle; Rohlfing owns the two lowest raising months of the last decade.  A historic majority in the US House & majority in the Senate; HRP has 1/25 senators and 7/51 reps.  The RNC fights tax increases; ‘leader’ Fukumoto supports tax increases.  Star-Advertiser declares HRP “irrelevant”; conservatives flock to HIRA’s conservative message.  Republican Assemblies formed 1934, once led by Reagan on his way to the Governorship and Presidency, as the solution to the establishment without principles.  HRP tries to dent what Milner writes “Death is not too strong a word to use here. Influence-wise, the Republicans here are gone, and there is no resurrection on the horizon.  So it is safe to see one-party control as a given.”  Republican Party is Dead The Assemblies remain the Republican Wing of the Republican Party.

-Rohlfing last summer fudged a budget which reflects his ignorance.  It included no funds for elections nor anything other than salary and overhead (and no budget for a lawyer to sue HIRA).  Rohlifing this winter presented a finance plan which has no relationship to his budget nor financial requirements, and has NO goal for 2016, LDD, telemarketing, nor mail.  His finance director admits they’ll raise less than they need for salary and overhead, yet Tagavilla in December asks district chairs for input to a new budget.  Party rules require the budget to be approved in December and, per a district chair, “a budget for 2016 should already be prepared.“  Your politically-challenged State Cmte hasn’t asked a single question.  District chair to HRP “why should I waste my time filling out a survey relating to the phantom budget?“  “The Executive Committee is going to approve the expenditure of funds, before or after a transaction, regardless of what guidance the State Committee provides via this survey.“  HRP enters January without even a draft election year budget.

-Rohlfing’s HRP Financials review team – Finance Chairman Felix, National Committeeman Liu, and Treasurer Smart offer no hope for an impartial, objective review.

-Instead of raising funds or recruiting district chairs, Rohlfing uses six weeks following his State Cmte beat down to conduct a witch hunt for sources of several embarrassing email and recordings which document his theft of donor funds and Hellreich’s fundraising fraud.  Insisting the state meeting, open to all party members and transmitted over a conference call line, is closed (a word not in party rules), the ‘leaders’ are so paranoid that they prohibit district chairs from providing information to their members.  District chair Schaedel says he was contacted by a cmte member who was told to report to HQ for an inquisition board.  “No, I do not know who made the recording.  A State Committee member contacted me and asked me if I had been contacted.  I said no.  That member stated that Jack James contacted the member to see if the member would meet with Jack, Ted Liu and Boyd Ready.  The Board of Inquiry is a HQ activity, so everyone must know about it.  Jack did not provide the purpose of the meeting, so the member refused to meet with them.“  If you know the sources, thanks them for the transparency.

– Lingle $200k non-job?  Lingle in Illinois “She organized a parade.”  Lingle – Working Hard or Hardly Working  Not organizing a parade, she had to only get the Governor’s people to attend.

– FEC watch.  Campaigns and candidates report this month for their 4^th quarter revenue.  Next report.

– RNC Convention Call i.e. about Convention and delegates RNC Call of the 2016 Convention.

– Lankford.  Federal_Fumbles_2015  “Last year, families spent $14,974 of their average household income on goods and services to cover the cost of federal regulations.“

– Clinton was late to the debate stage.  She said because it takes women longer to pee.  Maybe just Democrat women.  Fiorina hasn’t been late.

– PP kills babies Video 11, PP Sells Babies Heads.  The ideology-challenged HRP STILL not weighed-in.

– As NFRA Executive VP signed CAP Memo to the Movement to Stop Funding Bad Policies, Tea Party Patriots Memo to Movement oppose IRS collecting SSN.

-HRP was criticized when Rohlfing said he had an open process to hire the best possible Executive Director.  District chair “Fritz mentioned during the state committee meeting that they had openly announced a vacancy for Executive Director and conducted exhaustive interviews.  What?  When?  If I had known there was a vacancy, I would have applied for it.“  This month another district chair writes “I may have applied for ED.  Former House staffer, Office Manager, Caucus Manager, former State Secretary, RNC convention delegation aide… and more.  Never provided the opportunity to even consider applying for the position.“   Someone at HQ is not being honest.

-Fukumoto (ACU 50%) for Council.  Pine is recruiting Fukumoto to run (against Bunda) for Martin’s seat.  To spice the offer, Pine hires Clinton-supporter Fukumoto sister to city office staff.  Fukumoto joins democrats, ‘big spending is fiscally conservative’, giggle, giggle “I’ll raise taxes because I am no Gene Ward’, women deserve more, ‘I support ACLU and NORML.’

-Aiona spent a year being coy to discourage other Rs from running for Governor.  Again ego feeding, CB – Will Aiona Run for Mayor “[Aiona] will neither “confirm nor deny” that he’s weighing a run“.  It is good that Aiona says he does not support rail.  It is bad that he has never done a thing to oppose it.  LG Aiona said he was a decision-maker when Lingle supported rail, opposed rail, then let the rail GET increase become law.  Reader “I personally fought Aiona’s stooges on the HRP platform committee.  There’s no way this guy is against the wasteful rail project.  They battled to position the party as pro-rail, or neutral because Fukumoto and McDermott also support it.“  Dems are confused – Aiona Bashed in CB “Currently, the Hawaii GOP holds zero federal offices, zero statewide offices, one state Senate seat and seven seats in the state House.“  Aiona now says he’ll perhaps run for other than mayor, having promised to never run for anything but Governor.  Comment in CB “Aiona’s zombies who control Hawaii Republican Party fought the past 10 years to keep the party on the sidelines, rather than fighting against rail.  Aiona is a phony two-faced opportunist.  Anti-rail is his latest fashion trend.  Aiona’s last fashion was traditional marriage.  How many times did he testify against SSM?  Zero.  When did he activate his campaign apparatus to fight SSM?  Never.”  Djou and Carlisle names also being raised for Mayor.

Hawaii Presidential Campaigns

Bush spent $38 Million for 5% in the polls, and no early state success.  HRP is stagnant as Saiki, Marumoto, Hellreich(he) does Bush Hawaii instead of their HRP job.  Tell your elected Exec Cmte to quit and let someone who cares about HRP do the job.

Carson changing staff because of high burn rate and low poll numbers.  Carson SuperPAC was the only active organization in Hawaii.  Carson Hawaii is organizing, poaching SuperPAC folks for the campaign.

CB Cruz Hawaii Campaign Launched. Cruz Hawaii http://tedcruzhawaii.org organizes with leadership team, website, FB.    Rush Limbaugh “Ted Cruz speaks like a traditional powerful, well-versed proud – unabashedly proud – conservative.”   Backed by Perkins, King, Dobson, Dence, Madison Project (Ryun) and more; conservatives coalescing. Cruz Earns Allegiance (Disclaimer, I am a CNP member).  NFRA Convention was first to endose Cruz.  Disclaimer: I’m with Cruz Hawaii.

Trump pays for ballot access.  HRP favors establishment Bush by NOT announcing the Trump team or they broke their own rules by granting ballot access without a leadership team.

Hawaii Santorum FB page up.

-Santa Fe New Mexican “Martinez found herself attracting a different sort of national attention after the release of a recording in which she told law enforcement dispatchers that police should not investigate disturbance complaints against her group at a Santa Fe hotel.“ Campaigned with now-Governor Martinez in NM for her first primary so I believe “a policeman’s recording has Martinez drunk”.  Rohlfing should take his witch hunt to NM to punish the source of the recording, rather than address Marinez’s inebriation.

-Murder is bad. Terrorism is bad.  Mass shootings (and bombings) are bad.  Living in fear is bad.  Don’t confuse the Administration’s inability to deal this with the desire for law-abiding Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights.  We have a right to carry whether or not Obama and Ige are competent.

-Radical Islamic terrorists using Trump-speak to recruit?  No one believes people who chant ‘Death to America’, shoot and stab us in America, and burn the US flag can hate us more or need more motivation.

-Liberal WaPo must have gone nuts having to write Massive Decline in Gun Violence.

-If Obama did his job instead of wasting liberals’ time trying to take my civil rights, we wouldn’t need a political arm of the NRA.  Response to Obama, LaPierre’s Best Video

-Virginia ends much of their reciprocity, Seattle makes gun-purchase ‘violence’ tax…. all to hinder law-abiding citizens instead of criminals and terrorists.

-Join NRA to protect your (gun) civil rights.  Schumer Wants Your Guns.  Do NOT take the 2A for granted.  New NRA ads are GOOD freedoms-safest-place.  Rasmussen’s large poll in November, which the minstream conveniently missed Americans Say NRA is the Good Guys.  NRA BoD election Lee Running for NRA Board.
